PSA Analysis
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRQipHrkdyU&feature
This PSA is about secondhand smoking. The PSA shows a group of people talking to each other and they are all drinking water. Then it switches to a scene where one of them is smoking. The part where there is one smoker in the group is the most effective because everyone else's facial expression changes as they look at the smoker. There is music playing in the background as if they were at a party. It is effective to show where secondhand smoking happens despite the black blackground. There is no voice script in the PSA, but the people are shown talking amongst themselves. These decisions make the message effective because of it compares something rude to something deadly. As the smoke went into everybody's faces, it showed facts about secondhand smoking. I thought it got the message across well, and the timing of the messages shown and how to show them was effective.

CD Cover Assignment
Cosmosomas
Cosmosomas is a hardcore techno band. The CD is called “Our Snap Judgements”. The front cover is a picture of a skull inside a stereo speaker taken by me. I chose to take a picture of my stereo so that it represents loudness. Its yellow outlining is supposed to be the flaming of a star. I decided to use this as the front cover and back cover to represent the core of the music and the party-hard personality of the band.
On each side of the inside of the CD, is a picture of Cosmo somas. Written inside is a definition of Cosmo somas. I chose to put these pictures in to represent their interest in space and to represent their intergalactic sound. On the other side, there is a quote, “shoot for the moon. Even if you miss you’ll land among the stars” by Brian Littrell. I put the quote in because it shows their determination and inspiration to make music, also because it relates to the theme of the CD and their band name.
The traycard with the Milky Way image and the Cosmo somas are also used to personify their heavy electronic bass because of the way the Milky Way’s waves look like which can be interpreted as sound waves. The CD cover’s main colour is black with blue font. I used black to show that Cosmosomas is an aggressive band. The blue font “Machine ITC TT” carries out a futuristic electronic feel.
The band’s name Cosmosomas is curved around the stereo on the front cover to make it more interesting and eye catching. The CD is black with blue font same as it is throughout the booklet. I put Cosmosomas twice on the CD at the top and the bottom. I arched the text to fit the curves of the CD.

Random Album Cover Assignment
This band is called List of Diplomats. The original article was called List of Diplomats from the United Kingdom to the Republic of Genoa. I made the font face Old English Text MT to keep the English descent present.I decided that the band's style of music would be Indie/ Alternative rock. The album title is called " A Fairly Good Time". I assumed the people in the picture were a family at a ski resort having a fairly good time. The album title seems to be relaxed so I kept the background of the picture plain white and all text black. I changed the album title font face to perpetua and made it smaller than the band name to identify what is which.
This second band is called Divya Bhaskar. The name comes from a popular Gujarati newspaper in Gujarat, India. I chose a soft font called Viner Hand ITC that looked like it would represent an exotic place like India.I chose a light green colour for the font to give it, its natural feel. The album title chosen for me for this picture is "Infinite Number of Solutions". Based on these two titles together, I decided to make this band represent an indian style of easy listening music.
The album title has a positive meaning to it, so this band could help someone relax and relieve themselves of stress. The picture is of a waterdrop about to fall of a plant. This represents the naturual beauty of India and the relaxation said above.

Photographer's Website
http://www.robertdawson.com/
This is a website for Robert Dawson's photography. He has several projects of photos which i was interested in. I liked the use of people in his photos. I also liked the use of compositional elements such as shape, linear perspective, mood, lines and especially centre of interest.
